Make A Wish Foundation
Hope. Strength. Joy. These three little words are the purpose, foundation and product of every wish granted by the Make-A-Wish Rio Grande Valley. When a wish comes true, it creates strength, hope and transformation in a child - and a community.
Make-A-Wish Rio Grande Valley serves the 6 southernmost counties of Texas which include Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr, Willacy, Brooks, and Kenedy. One of the great attributes of this local chapter is that since date of inception they have granted over 1500 wishes.
Since 1997 Vantage Bank proudly donates office space at its McAllen location to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a place to call home in a centralized location in our community. Throughout the years they have welcomed many Wish Children and Wish Families into our Vantage building spreading the magic dust of a Wish in the making. This support is roughly the equivalence of more than three quarters of a million dollars in rent that has been donated to the local chapter, and in terms of wishes, that’s about 160 wishes.
Vantage Bank volunteers proudly participated in making the 23rd Annual Gala “Under the Big Top Evening of Wishes” benefitting Make-A-Wish Rio Grande Valley, truly a spectacular and successful event on the evening of May 6th, 2023.
Vantage Bank was recognized for our dedication to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and its mission of creating life changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. On this magical evening Vantage Bank collaborated towards the outstanding outcome of more than $463,349.00 raised in monetary donations! Funds that will help fulfill the 95 wishes in waiting.
We would like to congratulate Cris Moncayo, FVP HR Director and Vice President of the Make-A-Wish RGV Board of Directors who served as Co-Chair of this year’s Gala, along with Jose Martinez-Soto, South & West Texas Branch Network Director as the incoming Board President of the Make-A-Wish RGV for their service and commitment to Make-A-Wish RGV.
In support and attendance spreading magic wish dust were George Cardenas, Thomas Davidson, Mary Lou Vicencio, Fabiola Urgel, Jessica Reyna, Robert Olvera, Veronica Castilleja and Rosie Garcia.
