JOB SUMMARY

The Service Associate is the Branch’s lead sales and service contributor. The Service Associate must support the acquisition, servicing and growth of consumer and commercial client relationships in a competitive banking environment. He/She must master the full suite of Vantage Bank products, must successfully perform operation-related functions, including teller transactions as required, and must successfully and accurately open accounts and perform maintenance functions on all deposit account types. The Service Associate must demonstrate a high level of passion for both serving every need of our clients and growing client relationships. Besides basic teller, account opening, documentation, and servicing skills, the Service Associate must lead efforts to maximize all the client experiences within the branch.
Success in the Service Associate’s job will be determined by his/her ability to successfully provide a "wow” experience to our clients when they visit the branch.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

The duties listed below may not include all responsibilities that the person in this role may be asked to perform. Incumbent may be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

TELLER OPERATIONS

1. Maximize client experience at the branch through performing transactions and maintenances, service, sales and cross-selling. Uncover needs that can be met by the Bank.
2. Open and maintenance accounts properly and within the prescribed policies and guidelines of the Bank
3. Assist customers with requests or complaints and research account problems such as, but not limited to, replacing ATM/debit cards or resolving other ATM/debit card related problems, account activity inquiries, order checks, do wire transfers and assist customer with any other issues they may have in relation to their account.
4. Grant access to existing customers to their safe deposit box (where applicable).
5. Create and generate targeted marketing ideas and campaigns and execute them when approved by his/her manager.
6. Perform all assigned marketing and business development duties as directed by manager, including the distribution of marketing materials, making outbound calls, handling incoming calls, promotion of bank products and any other duties as assigned.
7. Accept and process account deposits and withdrawals.
8. Issue Cashier checks.
9. Process commercial deposits and order for change.
10. Cash checks for banking customers and /or checks issued to our customers.
11. Balance cash assigned to the teller station daily and complete the closing transactions.
12. Process and log all deposits made by mail and night depository items.
13. Respond to customer account inquiries. 
14. Resolve customer transactions that are not consistent with Bank policy or outside of teller authority through the appropriate procedures.
15. Balance ATM.
16. Have a clear understanding and comply with all bank procedures, laws and federal regulations.
17. Perform other duties as assigned.


NEW ACCOUNTS OPERATIONS

1. Introduce the features and benefits of all New Account/CD/IRA/Safe Deposit products while assessing the needs of the customer for these products.
2. Perform customer identification procedures.
3. Cross sell other bank products to customers and refer customers to the appropriate area for these products.
4. Complete all documentation and input for opening checking or savings accounts.
5. Complete all documentation associated with opening or closing a Certificate of Deposit.
6. Complete all documentation associated with opening or closing an Individual Retirement Accounts.
7. Provide access to and issuance or closing of all Safe Deposit.
8. Open and close the Bank vault and Safe Deposit vault on a scheduled basis in accordance with Bank security standards.
9. Complete weekly report of opened accounts.
10. Resolve customer problems in a friendly, knowledgeable manner.
11. Comply with all bank procedures, laws and federal regulations.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.


• 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Computer knowledge and comfort.
• Cash handling experience; teller cash handling experience preferred.
• Attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic math functions and to balance to expected totals.
• Must be able to work in a team environment with the ability to interact well, and in a positive manner, with co-workers and management.
• Must have ability to work in a fast paced environment without compromising quality.
• Need to have flexibility in scheduling. Must work until completion of daily functions.
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
• Must be sales oriented
• Strong organizational skill; able to manage priorities and workflow
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
• Ability to communicate with people at all levels and various backgrounds
• Bilingual skills a plus
