Performs varied and moderately complex duties related to the operations of the vault and teller area and all functions completed by all tellers. Assists other leads and directs teller staff and teller operations within the branch. Provides input to the Teller Operations Officer on personnel actions, such as performance appraisals, hiring, disciplinary action, etc.


The duties listed below may not include all responsibilities that the person in this role may be asked to perform. Incumbent may be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

1. Ability to work accurately and deal with job pressure and deadlines.
2. Assist and support tellers.
3. Sell products and services to new and existing customers/prospects, as well as make referrals to appropriate departments.
4. Process customer transactions efficiently and accurately in accordance with established Policies and Procedures, which include but are not limited to deposits, withdrawals, cashier’s checks, money orders, receiving tax and treasury loan payments, loans, exchanging foreign currency, balancing cash drawer and ensuring all information needed is obtained prior to completing each transaction.
5. Handle Customer Service requests and complaints.
6. Prepare/send documentation to the Secret Service on counterfeit items.
7. Prepare adjustments to customer accounts for errors in deposits.
8. Consistently balance work processed. Take the initiative to find and correct outages and to enlist help as needed.
9. Process daily work through branch capture.
10. Send transport monitor to ITI.
11. Process adjustments in branch capture as needed.
12. Consistently meet or exceed productivity and quality standards.
13. Maintain a position of trust and responsibility by keeping all customer business confidential.
14. Ability to fill in for every position in the teller area.
15. Assisting branch tellers with questions and issues.
16. Reconcile and make adjustments for all overages/shortages.
17. Responsible for making sure that cash limits, vault limits and individual teller limits are being respected at all times.
18. Audit teller cash boxes monthly.
19. Ensure all tellers are following established Vantage Bank Texas policies and procedures.
20. Create reports and spreadsheets as assigned to analyze data, etc.
21. Preparing reports and correspondence as needed.
22. Identifying and responding to customer’s needs effectively.
23. Responsible for tellers and their performance.
24. Preparing daily and monthly reports (Currency Transaction Reports, Suspicious Activity Reports, End of Month Reports, etc.)
25. Preparing teller schedules.
26. Responsible for vault function— balancing and ordering cash for branch.

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate’s Degree preferred in a related field (a minimum of 3 years of experience may commensurate for degree)
• Exceptional communication skills and a thorough knowledge of teller responsibilities
• Demonstrated ability to achieve individual and team goals
• Experience handling large amounts of currency and coin preferred
• Demonstrated data entry and PC skills.
• Ability to perform basic math functions and to balance to expected totals
• Work requires the ability to read and write well enough to communicate in both oral and written form
• Must be able to work in a team environment with the ability to interact well, and in a positive manner, with co-workers and management
• Must have ability to work in a fast paced environment without compromising quality
• Need to have flexibility in scheduling. Must work until completion of daily functions
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
