JOB SUMMARY

The FX Banker is key contributor in the business development of the foreign exchange department. The FX Banker will provide great service to customers by fostering a work environment that attracts, develops, recognizes and retains employees who demonstrate a commitment to our core values. The FX Banker will have a specialty in Foreign Exchange. The job summary includes, but is not limited to handle customer inquiries in person or by phone, explain the institutions products and service, refer customers to the appropriate personnel in lending, or other area of the bank, taking and confirming wire transfer requests. When assisting in the FX department the Banker will receive, capture and approve instructions from customers. Also is responsible of promoting the VBT FX services and quoting rates to customers; always trying to maximize the income per transaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

The duties listed below may not include all responsibilities that the person in this role may be asked to perform. Incumbent may be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

1. Capture operations, provide customer quotes, promote the FX business by focusing on the following essential functions:
a. Promote the FX business between prospects and current customers
b. Maintains and increase preferred FX customers assigned portfolio
c. Quote rates to customers and branches and also provide support to branches on any need related to the FX Business and its process
d. Receive and execute instructions from referred customers to send foreign currency wires
e. Follows referrals from the branches and record activity related to incentive programs
f. Train the frontline about the FX business and serve as an essential business partner
g. Serve as back up to the to the FX Desk Manager to perform ongoing risk management
2. Provide excellent customer service and assist customers in getting their accounts up to date by focusing on the following essential functions:
a. Sets up check orders and debit cards on system by following department procedures.
b. Incoming calls: Assists customers by phone with any needs or concerns they might have and assists in verifying incoming faxes.
c. Assist foreign customers with stop payments and forwards request to the appropriate personnel and follows up with customers.
d. Responds effectively to customers requesting to close their accounts, determining the reason and offering possible alternatives.
