JOB SUMMARY

The senior specialist is key contributor in the operational fluidity and efficiency of the foreign exchange department. The specialist will provide great service to customers by fostering a work environment that attracts, develops, recognizes and retains employees who demonstrate a commitment to our core values. Third, contribute to the growth and development of our communities through investment and involvement. In doing so, optimizing the shareholder’s long-term value.
The employee’s responsibilities as FX Desk Senior Specialist are related but not limited to the management of customer pricing profiles, customer retention strategies and performance reports for upper management. In addition, the employee will contribute in the development of new products and services that will enhance the operational efficiency and service delivery experience for VBT FX customers. The senior specialist will also be the designated backup for assistance in the management of the risk position of foreign currencies, approve, verify and release instructions from customers executed by FX Bankers, Remote Wires and the branch network all while assuring the expedited release of funds on electronic banking systems. Assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures for the FX transactions. Assist in daily reconciliation, accounting and payments processed throughout each business day.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES


The duties listed below may not include all responsibilities that the person in this role may be asked to perform. Incumbent may be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

1. Creates and develop strategies to improve customer retention
2. Manages customers profiles on the FX Star system, including credit risk and pricing tiers.
3. Provide support to the FX Bankers to help them reach their goals by:
a. Ensure that the transactions being booked adhere to the pricing guidelines
b. Manage the FX Banker Portfolios, related to number of clients, volumes and contribution
c. Identifying existing and potential customers to call on based on internal research
d. Track and report Key Performance Indicator information to management for the FX Bankers
4. Perform additional responsibilities and undertake special projects as assigned related to product and service development, customer retention and enhanced service offering.
5. Execute or supervise the execution of client orders
6. Create income, volume and transaction report to supplement department strategies
7. Assist to perform ongoing risk management, with regards to currency hedging and rebalances
8. Assist to manage nostro account balances to ensure efficient funding of trading activities across multiple currencies
9. Assist in providing strategic and tactical market advice to sales staff and clients
10. Assist to negotiate transactions with correspondent banks and liquidity providers
11. Assist in the determination of FX rates. Update system rates, lobby public rates and calculators
12. Assist to confirm and prepare payments to counterparties and liquidity providers on international wires system
13. Assist to authorize payments to counterparties and liquidity providers on international wires system
14. Assist to perform opening and closing day processes (Operational, Correspondent Bank, Accounting)
15. Assure quality service on the FX business
16. Authorize, Verify and Release transactions executed at FX Department, Remote Wires and Branches
17. Review and release all OFAC incoming and OFAC outgoing wire transactions for possible hits on Compliance Link.
18. Creates, verify and approve new beneficiary templates
19. Serve as back up to quote rates to customers and branches
20. Serve as back up to perform opening and closing day processes (Operational, Accounting)
21. Assist to create daily work back up and files for auditing proposes
22. Assist to generate and transmit Anti Money Laundry file for compliance department
23. Attend to customers' needs and insure their experience with the bank is a positive one
24. Provide support to branches on any need related to the FX Business and its process
25. Assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations, which include BSA, CIP, and OFAC requirements as they apply to this particular job title/position


QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 5 years banking experience
• Bachelors degree in business, finance, accounting, economics or related field of study
• At least one year of experience in dealing with swift wires, international wires and foreign exchange wires
• Strong work ethic and able to operate in a fast-paced environment Increased emphasis to detail to maintain high quality standards Outgoing and service oriented attitude
• Superior customer service skills
• Must be bilingual in Spanish and English both written and spoken with strong basis on relatable jargon
• Ability to multitask
