The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) is responsible for building total relationships with small businesses, Professional & Executive consumers and Foreign National consumers in Vantage Bank’s market area. The BRM is responsible for proactively sourcing, acquiring, expanding and retaining those relationships by maximizing sales opportunities in their assigned territory. The BRM must also ensure a world-class customer experience for all current and prospective customers.


The duties listed below may not include all responsibilities that the person in this role may be asked to perform. Incumbent may be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

1. Effectively sell to and service Vantage Bank business relationships with a focus to grow loans and deposits.
2. Develop and execute a sales plan to achieve desired results. Emphasize acquisition of new to bank customers. Target key industries to maximize high probability and high potential.
3. Develop Centers of Influence (COI) to generate business leads, and close business opportunities.
4. Maintain frequent interactions and network with COI’s, community leaders and senior business contacts in diverse industry groups to actively represent Vantage Bank in their local business communities. Through extensive involvement create local community awareness that the Bank is critically focused on partnering in the community and providing multi-product banking solutions to the small business community.
5. Proactively manage portfolio of clients. Expand business banking customer relationships by identifying new needs and maximizing opportunities within relationships. Ensure customer satisfaction and retention by working closely with servicing partners within the Bank. Cross-sell and refer as opportunities arise.
6. Source and provide credit and deposit solutions for prospects and clients.
7. Work with Business Banking Underwriting to complete credit packages and structure offers on relationships within the Bank’s prescribed Small Business Banking segment.
8. Refer larger credit relationships to a Commercial Relationship Manager.
9. Achieve desired goals for loan growth, deposit growth, revenue, customer retention, and customer experience.
10. Build a deposit book of business that equates to at least 100% of loan portfolio.
11. Deliver client satisfaction and relationship profitability. Be primary point of contact.
12. Effectively leverage, coordinate and organize targeted marketing campaigns, events and new product launches to drive sales activities and fulfill customer needs across assigned territory.
13. Provide business development leads for Commercial Relationship Managers.
14. Participate at required levels in the Bank’s Sales Calls Program.
15. Strictly adhere to all internal bank policies and procedures.
16. Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with all regulatory, legal and government regulations.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business and/or banking required.
• Formalized credit training or equivalent credit risk experience required.
• Minimum of 3 years sales experience; minimum of 3 years managing business banking or commercial relationships preferred.
• Underwriting experience preferred.
• Proven ability to build new and existing client business and provide a positive client experience.
• Strong business acumen, to include detailed analysis, review of financial statements and knowledge in advanced accounting principles.
• Thorough knowledge of Commercial & Treasury Management services as well as alternative lending and financing options.
• Ability to assess client needs, drivers of profitability, and corporate/personal life cycle optimizing financial solutions. Uses effective problem solving and analytical skills with ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks. Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills, with particular emphasis on experience in face-to-face negotiations and group presentations.
• Champions the VBT vision and core-values through personal actions and leadership influence to promote high-performing work groups.
• Proven ability to work in a team-based sales environment.
• SBA Lending experience preferred.
• Ability to maintain the confidentiality of customer information.
• Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office software; familiarity with prospecting and CRM sales tools preferred.
• Regional /local travel.
